When God Speaks

Youre So Holy - CeCe Winans

Oh, for the grace to be silent! Oh, to "be still, and know that [Jehova is]God" Ps. 46:10

My soul yearns for the oh Lord!
To spend time away with you alone Father...
That I may clear my mind and concentrate on you,
That I may empty my heart out to you Oh God...

For it is in the quietness of my solitude
That your voice speaks the loudest!!!

It is in these quiet moments where I've heard God speak clearly! Such an intimate encounter in which all I can do is say Holy. It's like for an instant I can almost hear the angels giving Him praise..saying you're holy, you're holy. And I join in this chorus along with them praising God for who He is! My heart is filled with the realization of His love, mercy, and grace! Who am I that He would pour out His love towards me and allow me the privilege of catching a glimpse of heaven!

I was listening to someone the other day speak about a weekend spent up in the mountains and on one night walking back to the cabin they were admiring the beauty of the stars. And as they heard the wind gently rushing through the leaves, it's like they could hear God Speaking!!

But that's how my God is! He enjoys and looks forwards to those moments even more so than we do!! He calls me everyday....he calls you everday to come into His presence..

Willing and Able

"The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me"

(Ps. 138:8).

That which concerns us concerns Him too! When we bring them to God in prayer and speak honestly to Him from the depths of our hearts an awesome dynamic takes place! One which takes the relationship to a deeper level. God rejoices with the fact that you trust Him enough to share with him that which He already knows. He sees that you are willing to let your walls down, put away the mask, and everything else that serves as an obstacle in this divine communication. NOW He's able to deal with your concern! And as you wait on Him, patience begins its perfect work!

Things might not necessarily look like they're going the way you'd like. As a matter of fact it might seem its getting worse...almost to the point of losing hope! It is when you continue to hold on to that trust and faith, when circumstances though good or bad seek only God's will that you begin to see just exactly what God can do and how he works!

Training

After much deliberation in my head and so forth, I have decided to embark upon a task greater than anything I've ever done!! That is to train for the Los Angeles Marathon...yes people 26.2 miles (I believe). I'm excited about stepping out of my comfort zone and exploring health, body, and spirituality.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

WEEK 1
Sunday was the first day...6:30 a.m. LORD HAVE MERCY!! But there I was in line with mostly new faces and wondering what their motivation for being up this early to train was!! So we ran a mile, got our times and were grouped...I was wasted after only a mile!!! Realizing that the late night dinner with ice cream was probably not a good idea! During the week you have "homework" and I'm proud to say that I've stayed with it so far and conquered some small feats already...God is good!! Plus I think I've recruited some more people to join me out there next Sunday...YEAH!!!!

LESSONS:
-Definite correlation between what you put in your body and performance.
-God places people in your life to motivate and prepare you for such a time as this!

Through His Eyes

Some might say that you're too passive
You wait too long to act, the time is now!
But through His eye you've understood "be still, and know that I am God"
Some might say that at the end of the day
It looks like you haven't accomplished much!
But through His eyes He sees the hard work behind the scenes, when no one was around.
Some might say, "I don't see the results! Your plan looks like it's failed!"
But through His eyes He sees patience and the faith you've installed in Him.
Some might say you're looks aren't that great, or don't measure up to what they expect.
But through His eyes you are "fearfully and wonderfully made", whose price was paid!
So remember next time you hear words that seem to tear you down, God's vision is the clearest.
Hear His word's now!

Suppose

You've been called by God to do a great work for Him,
Maybe you've been running from it for a long time,
Perhaps you weren't paying attention or recognized His voice calling,
But you finally decided to stop running...
Finally decided to stop, listen, and realize it's His voice you've been ignoring all this time.
Excited and humbled by His assignment you accept the calling, though you may not have the big picture or all the details.

But suppose, for instance, you experience a time of illness,
and you lose your present employment,
Let's suppose your finances suffer,
Suppose the one person you thought you could lean on is not there for you,
Just suppose the people start criticizing the very work you've been called to do?

Or suppose.......

you simply trust?

"The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not be in want" Ps. 23:1

The minute we accept God's call ...Satan starts whispering into our ears things that fill us with fear and doubt until, if not careful, we are lead to a depressed state and simply give up!!! When you accept God's calling on your life, you must realize that you are about embark upon some fiery trials...

Trials that are the Devil's attempt to stop you from doing a great and mighty thing for God...
Trials that God allows to come so that we may be shaped, molded, and purified to what God wants us to be!!

So suppose you receive and act on God's word in childlike faith.
For God has said,'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'
So we can say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper;I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'(Heb.13:5-6)

Wings

"Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest." Ps. 55:6

This was David's cry while enduring severe trial...so many of us are quick to run away when faced with a hard situation or the burden we've been carrying is too heavy!!! Even more so we scramble to come up with solutions to relieve the situation or burden ourselves...but I believe that it's at these times when we must "be still and know that He is God!!"

It seems as though before finishing his meditation David realized that his wish for wings was attainable, for he then said, "Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you." (Ps.55:22).

Jesus himself reminds us of this precious reality when he says,
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."Matthew 11:29-30
Bearing the burden of crushing weight actually gives those who believe in Christ wings...for it draws us to come to Him and cast our cares upon him!

And once we have done so, the burden is transformed into a pair of wings through the miracle of trust, and the one who was weighed down "will soar on wings like eagles"(Is.40:31) (Cowman, p.104)

As I Walk

There is a journey ahead of me and I am excited about it! All the things that I would like to accomplish in terms of spirituality, health, and other endeavors are now set before me more clearer than ever. I'm not sure of the time nor what will come up as I walk ahead. But I do know for certain that I have My Friend who will guide me through it all and provide my every need!!

"If you can"?....Everything is possible for him who believes. Mark 9:23
